Hybridization of Urea-SNCR with SCR - A Fit for the Future

AIR POLLUTION CONTROL NOxOUT-SCR®           (brochure)

NOxOUT-SCR®

  • Proprietary Urea Conversion Process to Generate Ammonia for SCR Systems
  • Direct Urea Injection for Industrial and Gas Turbine SCR Projects
  • Complete systems with Catalyst, Reactor Vessel and Urea Injection System
  • Up to 85% NOx Reduction

Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) has long been a common means of reducing nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions from industrial power generation equipment. However, concerns over the safety and potential liability of anhydrous ammonia used as an SCR reagent are growing. In addition, the costs associated with aqueous ammonia have driven many power generators to look for alternative means of reducing NOx.

Fuel Tech’s NOxOUT-SCR® process is urea based and delivers a safer and simpler method of SCR operation.

Technical Benefits:

  • Up to 85% NOx Reductions

  • Proven experience with installations on industrial SCR applications

  • Eliminates safety issues associated with anhydrous ammonia and aqueous ammonia handling and storage requirements, along with regulatory requirements

The NOxOUT-SCR process provides high levels of NOx control, similar to conventional SCR.

Typical operation of the NOxOUT-SCR process yields no buildup or fouling of catalyst surfaces. Injectors stay clean and there is often no increase in generator back pressure or decrease in generator performance or efficiency.
