FUEL CHEM^® Combustion Catalysts

FUEL CHEM^® markets a line of catalyst-bearing products for the combustion process. Calcium nitrate, iron, and copper based catalysts are available. Catalysts work by producing a cleaner burn with lower carbon particulate (lower LOI), reduced NOx and CO emissions and lower excess O₂. When combined with lower operating excess O₂, catalysts can help control SO₃ formation that prompts cold-end metal attack or acid plume. A combustion catalyst can be metered in-oil, or used as a component of a FUEL CHEM TIFI^™ Targeted In-Furnace Injection^™ program. In the latter instance, a Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) model is used to target catalyst injection to a section of the combustion zone where its catalytic properties are most beneficial.
